PUBLIC PARTICIPATION MEETING: SOUTH AFRICAN SOLAR WATER HEATER CDM PROJECTThe Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality (NMBM), ETA Energy (a wholly owned subsidiary of CEF) and CEF Carbon invite all members of the public to a meeting to discuss the South African Solar Water Heater (SWH) Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Project, as a Programme of Activities (PoA). CDM allows emission-reduction projects in developing countries to earn Certified Emission Reduction (CER) credits. Industrialized countries use these credits to meet part of their emission reduction targets under the Kyoto Protocol. The project objectives are to promote Solar Water Heating, and reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions to the atmosphere. ETA Energy is rolling out a National SWH Programme, and NMBM will be the first city for implementation of SWHs.

SFF is looking for a partner to refurbish between five (5) to ten (10) of the steel oil storage tanks. The cost of refurbishment will be borne by the selected partner. They in turn will recover their cost through a negotiated storage contract.
