Rising fuel prices to hit motorists from now until 2012

Soaring fuel prices from now until after the Soccer World Cup means motorists in the market for a new car should buy fuel efficient models, says the National Energy Efficiency Agency (NEEA). The NEEA’s message follows a report published by the International Energy Agency (IEA) on Monday, July 9th, that predicted an ‘oil crunch’ as global demand catches up with supply in the next five years.

Petroleum Agency SA Licence Round pitches to foreign investors

South Africa has launched a new licensing round for oil and gas exploration kicking off with a road show to attract foreign investors. The licence round was opened in March by way of information seminars held in Johannesburg, London, Houston, as well as exhibitions in London and Long Beach, California. This may be followed up with a telephonic marketing of the offshore exploration blocks.

Renewable energy projects for Nelson Mandela Bay

An innovative programme of renewable energy projects was launched on Tuesday  by the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality. After months of negotiations to finalise the detailed contracts, the metro signed contracts to kick-start four renewable energy projects.
